My 15 year old nephew has had a collapsed lung for a week now.?

everytime they go to take out the tube the xray shows he still has air in the suction. well yesterday they put tal power in the tube to make his lung expand. they told my sister that it is going to burn and he is going to be in mive pain. he is on something called dalated for the pain and everytime he hits the on he breaks out in a rash and after 15 minutes it goes away. she just called me and said the drs said it sounds like the other lung is collapsed. does anyone know what else they can do for this. i need help asap. thank you
